I decided not to go for a walk for fear of melting :) Instead I prowled around the yard with my camera.
I love these butterflies. They are fairly common this time of the year and very big- the wingspan would be about the size of my hand. They flutter past very slowly and peacefully. There were two of them exploring my trees together today, like children checking every nook and cranny.

Plumbago flowers always make me feel cool to just look at them. If plants had personality, I guess plumbago would be the laid back, take life as it comes type. This plant grows in a shady spot near our fence- it flowers when it feels like it and grows just how it wants to. The pale blue flowers seem to radiate a kind of relaxed coolness, even on a hot day! Maybe I was out in the sun too long!

Very nice! We have plumbago growing in our garden and we also have a butterfly very similiar but quite a lot smaller, Ours is approximately 1.5 inches. Funny how things across the world are so similiar,
