Technology Stats

The digital revolution must be one of the fastest, most far-reaching technological advances in history.

According to the latest figures of the UN's International Telecommunications Union, 2 billion people use the internet regularly and 5 billion people have mobile phones. The number of fixed lines is declining.

That could be cynically interpreted as an awful lot of porn and spam being communicated along with stupid text messages.

On the positive side, it has to be a big leap forward for economic development in the world's poorest countries.
