Scripture
God, for whom and through whom all things were made, chose to bring many children into glory.
Observation
God made everything for Himself yet chooses to bring us, His creation, into His glory. He did this be redeeming us through His Son. It was necessary for the Son to become fully human and to die in order to break the power of the devil who had the power of death.
The Son did not come to redeem angels but to redeem us humans. He became a man so that He could be a true High Priest, offering the perfect sacrifice for the forgiveness of all sin.
Application
This is the mystery of the Incarnation- the divine becomes human, the godly becomes flesh and blood.
God created everything for Himself and yet He gives Himself to the creation to reconcile us back to Himself.
What amazing love this is!
In a sense God yielded His right over creation I order to call us back to Him. He gave away His right to judge and condemn us by loving us.
Prayer
Father, your love is never-ending. You call us into your Kingdom by dying for our sins. Help me Lord to receive this into my heart so that I might give you the love you deserve. Amen.
