The swans are back! I don't know how long it's been since there has been enough water to entice swans to the lake but they were here this afternoon. I counted 7, but they were so busy fishing and swimming there may have been more hiding.
Such beautiful birds. We had them in the river in our town where I gres up. Most were white, but everyone was just stunned when they brought in a pair of black ones.

ReplyDeleteIn the early 1800's when explorers took black swans to Europe everyone was amazed. They had only ever know white ones until then. Along with the platypus, which was first thought to be a hoax, they confirmed the upside down nature of Australia!
