Busy Saturday.

Today was a very busy pottering around kind of day.

We started the day with a drive out along the Yarrie Lake Road to go to a garage sale, After we returned home. I did some gardening, planting out lettuce and beetroot seedlings and some weeding. I also cleaned my fish tank and changed some of the water. I'm sure the inhabitants appreciated that. Then Grant, Tim and I loaded our old hot water tank that was removed on Wednesday and we took it to the tip. After that, I still had some energy so I went for a jog.

And after that, well I wandered down to the creek and saw some birds that I've never noticed before as well as the old favourites. The light was just right to be able to see through the shallow water near the creek edge where there are hundreds of little fish! It is just amazing to think that two months ago the creek and lake were bone dry but are now teeming with every kind of life.

I hope you enjoy the photos- mostly from today but some from earlier in the week.

The fellows below as called Eurasian Coots. I thought there were young purple moorhens because they look similar except for the beak which is white instead of red, and there are moorhens around.

Here is the moorhen which is quite happy in the company of the coots.

I was really amazed to look into the water and see so many fish.
