Levels of Community

At the Family Camp a few weekends ago, I talked in one of the sessions about the levels or types of christian community that exist. I prepared a slide presentation but I wasn't able to use it at the time because of technical problems.

Here is the basic table which God showed me in a flash of insight late last year. I was just praying one Sunday morning and this information was suddenly there in my head.

It seems to me that any pastor who wants to develop a church as a community and not just an institution needs to have a roadmap of where they want to head. You can't get there if you don't know what the destination might look like!

This table could be adapted to different situations, such as schools or neighbourhoods, although I don't believe that real community can exist separately from God, the author of all genuine community.
