Life may only exist in our little corner

One of the fundamental axioms of science is that the laws of science and the basic physical values are constant every where.


Scientists think that they may have discovered that at least one of those constants varies in different parts of the universe. And that means that in a very real sense, we are special, as other parts of the universe may be incapable of supporting life in any form.
