Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life has gone; a new life has begin!
Observation
Faith in Christ is not an isolated part of a wider life. When we come to Christ, we literally become a new person with a new life and identity in Christ.
Since Christ is the one who reconciles people to God, it follows that we are ambassadors of reconciliation also. Our message, our plea, our life mission must be “Come back to God.”
Application
Following Jesus brings about an entire redirection of our life. No longer can I do what pleases me. I must live every part of my life for what pleases God.
What pleases God in particular is that we become His representatives or ambassadors proclaiming the Good News that God is not angry with us.
We have this message of reconciliation, of being right with God. Let us proclaim the message far and near.
Prayer
Lord thank you for the fact of reconciliation- in Christ I am put right with you. Help me to appreciate this gift and then to tell others the Good News. Amen.
