I've been using the new Opera 10 alpha version for the last couple of days, and I really like it.
There aren't too many new features yet, but it does use a new version of the rendering engine which they say is somewhat faster.
I also used the built-in email client for a while, then realised its biggest downfall is still there- no support for templates. I NEED templates for my emails. For example when I order products for our bookshop, I need to use a template to store our account number with that supplier and the email address plus the basic "please supply the following". Opera's mail client does not offer a way to do this. You can produce a template, and store it in a folder, but as soon as you use the template it saves the changes!
They are supposed to be giving the mail client some attention this time around. In the mean time I am sticking with my favourite client of the last few years which is claws-mail. It's excellent.
The other great need with Opera is to sort out the compatibility issues with some major sites including facebook apps and ANZ banking.
I guess I haven't been using the new features and haven't really noticed it being any faster. I'm just happy it's finally working again.
ReplyDeleteI try a few different browsers from time to time but always come back to Opera. It seems to do most of the things I want very efficiently.
