Wattsupwiththat.com reports that in response to a series of questions regarding abuse of process by William Connolley about climate-related articles at wikipedia the following was received:
Has William Connolley been removed as a Wikipedia administrator? If so who has taken his place?
In September 2009, the Wikipedia Arbitration Committee revoked Mr. Connolley’s administrator status after finding that he misused his administrative privileges while involved in a dispute unrelated to climate warming. This has now been added to his article
().
Nobody has replaced him specifically, but there are more than a thousand other administrators with very varied backgrounds.
I haven't looked at wikipedia articles on climate lately, but it's reassuring to know that they have processes in place to remedy the kind of abuse happening that I reported in an earlier post.
They'll have to do something, or lose so much credibiity that the rest of the information will be questionable.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that this person was able to insert himself into a contentious topic area and change thousands of articles in (I think) 18 months. What is also amazing is that the people at the Climate Research Unit are so desperate to silence opinions that differ from theirs.Very arrogant and deceiving.
