Right wing Christian groups such as Focus on the Family have been engaged in what they called "The Culture War" for the last decade.
Here is the splendid result of their efforts:
* 69% of Americans now use the "Merry Christmas" greeting compared to 56% previously.
* 61% of Americans now oppose generic "Happy Holidays" greetings, compared to 44% previously.
* 69% of Americans prefer "Merry Christmas" over "Happy Holidays."
Wow.
Maybe a lot more effort in preaching the gospel, serving the poor and healing the sick could have achieved real results.
