A Little Bit of Rain

As they say, it was a nice drop of rain last night. We had 41 mm following a number of storms.

Here are the "before" and "after" shots of the creek.














The creek isn't very deep yet, but at least it looks the part now instead of a muddy puddle.

The pelican took advantage of the damper conditions to go exploring. Although his puddle is a little bigger than yesterday and the rest of the lake bed is mud not baked dirt, the rain did not have much of an impact yet on the lake. It's possible that rain from the Pilliga will find its way there over the next few days.




A couple of cockatoos decided to celebrate the rain by coming for a visit.

















There is more rain predicted for the rest of the week with heavy falls on Saturday. We may see big changes in the local landscape by next week.
