Reflection on Psalm 19

The heavens declare your glory Lord
The earth proclaims your greatness

The creek brings life flocking;
cockatoos and galahs screech
magpies sing their pure praise
kookaburras laugh with glee
to their creator.
The majestic pelicans glide serenely
and the peewees call to one another

Over it all
the old gum tree
watches, supervises.

Morning by morning
the sun leaps up to sail across the sky-
always reliable, never failing

All of these things Lord
remind me of you.
You created this planet
in all of its beauty and splendour

I will follow you-
You have the words of eternal life-
You who balance habitats and ecosystems
You who keep the earth in orbit
You know how a man should live.

Help me Lord
to keep you at the centre
and to let you direct my days.
