I uploaded some photos to my album, but it failed the first time around. I started to write this post and realised the problem so repeated the upload. But there was a problem the "Photo Albums" widget on the page for writing your blog had cached its information and, although it saw there was a "page 4" added, it would not update the photo list from page 3. After a few frustrating minutes I wondered if there was an option to just reload the frame. I right clicked on the frame, and yes Opera has that very nice feature to let you just reload a frame without having to reload the whole page.
So back to my busy hectic week. It's been busy and stressful but we've got through. Here are just a few random parts of this week.
Firstly my birthday presents last week included this:

Yes, a USB turntable. I've started digitising those ancient LPs that I haven't listened to for decades. Interestingly this is generating huge interest from my offspring who are desperate to listen to the old Monty Python and Comedy Company albums. I've been learning a lot about Audacity, recording and splitting tracks. The turntable isn't too bad considering it was quite cheap, but you can notice the wow and flutter that were always a problem with vinyl records. Another problem with this particular turntable is it does tend to get stuck, particularly in the last track on a side.
Yesterday I took Josh for a drive out towards Bingara. We were going to go right to Bingara but we didn't have enough fuel to get there and back, and I thought the prospects for buying petrol in Bingara on Good Friday were not good. Anyway here are a couple of photos taken at 80 km/h not far from Narrabri.

This morning David Baxter and a gang of helpers erected a beam to hang a curtain rail from behind the stage. This will provide us with more useful access to stored equipment than we currently have.

Go the men! Us ladies were not invited - and happily accepted our non-invitation.So, how was the new road to Bingara?
ReplyDeleteI should have added that Tim and Grant took the opportunity to reconfigure some of the sound gear.
ReplyDeleteIt's very nice, as far as we went. We might go all the way tomorrow. It's a bit narrow but adequate for the amount of traffic it carries. Very different to when we first came to Narrabri when it was dirt for most of the way.
ReplyDeleteI hope Ceiling Cat didn't mind you poking round up there. Otherwise he might have been like "O hai. Dis b mai house. Cairful poking round here or you might get blinded by mah shineez. Srsly. But dun worry, cause I heel you."
ReplyDeleteI don't think CC minded at all. I'm seriously tempted to write something like "O hai. I b live gen. I wuz ded now iz live."Oh no it's contagious!
ReplyDeleteHa HA! Now you're getting into it. :P You can even follow Ceiling Cat on Twitter. He says all sorts of awesome stuff like "Todai teh day HappyCat run owt ov happeh. But dun worri! He getz his happeh bak Sunday. lol. Den his happeh bring him up to teh Ceiling"
ReplyDeleteHappy (belated) birthday. A wonderful gift for sure, but I sense many hours of work ahead of you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lois. Indeed there are many hours of happy work already behind me and yet to come!
