Today I thought "No exams today! Lots of time for pastoring!"
Silly me!
I went to Bellata to share the Good News with my lovely children there.
I had a brief time to do some administrative stuff after that before going to see the Doctor for my twice a year prescription for blood pressure pills.
Dr Islam is new to Narrabri- yeah, great name.
Seems like a good doctor though, very thorough. He checked some test results I got done last time... "You were supposed to make an appointment" he said. "They didn't tell me that" I replied. In fact nobody had contacted me to tell me that I needed to do some follow-up tests.
It appears that my cholesterol and sugar levels were up. Now I have to go back for more blood tests including a glucose tolerance test... that's where you eat nothing then turn up to get your blood sucked, then they feed you lots of sugary drink to see what it does to you- via more blood sucking of course. That will be entertainment for next Tuesday morning.
By the time I had waited nearly an hour for the doctor and then come home again I had lost the morning. Then a sales rep dropped in and he took another three hours.
So much for my empty day!
The good part is that I did manage to fit in a walk.
More exam supervision tomorrow and Friday mornings. A few exams next week and then I can settle into the end of the year scramble!
