I went to the doctor the other day to get results of blood tests taken last week.
The good news is that I am not a diabetic.
The bad news is that I have a slightly high cholesterol level. The doctor wrote a script for some pills and gave the usual warnings about possible side-effects. I especially looked forward to muscle spasms, impotence and myalgia- pain in the muscles.
So I dutifully went to the pharmacist and received the same warnings from her- in the midst of total chaos because the sho is being renovated.
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings I took the tablets at night as instructed. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings my body itched all over, I broke out in little lumps like insect bites and couldn't sleep. Tuesday night I read for a couple of hours and then dreamed for most of the rest of the night. Wednesday night I prayed, walking around the house to use up the physical energy.
Last night I refused to take the tablet and slept peacefully,
I think that since my cholesterol was only up a little bit on the recommended levels and since there is no history of heart trouble in my family, I'm going to ditch the tablets. The cure is definitely worse than the disease in this case!
