Rarely do I get so disgusted by a Government as this one. I'm often cynical about the promises political leaders make and their ability to actually make the big changes they want to.
Julia Gillard's team sets new standards in ineffectiveness and deceit.
Just about every promise that Julia took to the election last August have been reversed or dropped.
"There will be no carbon tax" was dropped just as soon as she realised that she needed the Greens to survive.
Now the hospital reforms championed by Kevin Rudd have gone down the toilet. From a complete take over to "stop the blame game" to a 60% funding guarantee to a mish-mash of policy changes-- all in the space of two years.
We've had houses burnt down and workers killed by the "pink batts" debacle, million dollar classrooms and school canteens that are too small to make sandwiches in, a more compassionate refugee policy that has more children locked up than in the Howard years and a reform of the Murray-Darling Basin water policy that didn't even get past the public consultation phase before public anger and widespread flooding prompted a huge back flip.
It also appears that the National Broadband Network, the 43 billion dollar miracle, will never be completed.
The only thing that the current Government will be remembered for is its inventiveness in devising new taxes. The Mining Resource Super Profit Tax which they had to radically reduce because it threatened to end the mining industry (our country's biggest source of export wealth), the Flood Levy which will raise just 1.8 billion dollars and hardly seems worth the effort and of course the Carbon Tax which we definitely wouldn't be getting before the election but is now needed to stop the drought or floods or record high temperatures or record low temperatures.
Gosh and we've got another 2 1/2 years of these clowns.
LOL....seems like politics is the same all over....LOLGoverment and Democracy would be a great for the human race if it weren't for all the damn politicians...LOL
ReplyDeleteI think we would all be happier if they would be honest about what can be achieved. What is really annoying is that they don't seem to stand for anything any more, just whatever they think will get them elected.
