I'm currently sitting in Los Angeles airport patiently waiting for my flight home. It's 6 pm here and we still have another 4 1/2 hours to wait.
We will be arriving in Sydney at about 6 am.
The flight from Calgary to LA was uneventful apart from a little turbulence. I was totally awe-struck by the extent of the Rocky Mountains. They seem to stretch for ever in all directions!
Negotiating through U.S. Customs was easier than our inward trip. They have a check-point at Calgary and it all seems more relaxed there. We were waved through fairly quickly. On arrival at LA, we went immediately to the V-Australia desk and checked in without having to queue.
Apart from security clearance we will not have to do much prior to boarding.
Somewhere along the line we will skip right past Thursday, arriving in Sydney on Friday morning. Time travel is a very confusing thing.
Yes, it must feel odd to miss a day like that!
ReplyDeleteIt messes with you mind. The Wednesday we travelled to Canada lasted about 40 hours, so we paid for that with a non-existent Thursday. Time travel is very confusing.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back again to Aussie, Keith, hope you enjoyed your trip ...
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was awesome- because of the people who I met.
