John Kingma and his Indonesian-born wife minister in Sumatra. They take in people who are homeless and mentally ill or developmentally disabled. They have eight of these people in their home and another 16 in another home. They have seen many people healed just through the power of prayer and sometimes simply having someone love them. They have a big heart for the people in their community and are working towards building a special facility to expand their work.
Herb Hutchinnson was a guitarist with Bill Haley and the Comets, so you can guess his age. He has been playing with the worship band each morning here and is still a very good guitarist. He now pastors a church in New Jersey. Every month for the last 14 years Bill and others from his church travel to a Navajo reservation in Open Window, Arizona to minister there. That is an awesome commitment of time and perseverance. The long-term plan is to establish a church there.
This is Radika who is one of those people who delights in serving others and blessing them with little things. She brought baskets of snacks and fruit to our rooms when we first arrived and makes sure that we have plenty of tea and munchies on our table in the session times.
