This morning I woke up early, possibly due to going to bed before midnight. I looked out the window to see snow gently falling and decided to go for a run. I chose track pants and long sleeve T-shirt and that turned out to be wise- it was literally freezing. I know, snow is a bit of a give away. There is some nice parkland and a network of walking and bike paths on the other side of the river. It was nice running and the weather was an incentive to keep running. The snow kept up for much of the day, at times becoming quite heavy, but the ground was too warm for it to stay frozen.
The day's sessions started quite late- at 11 am. I'm not sure of the reason for that, but I was glad because it gave me extra time to pray over an issue at home that was concerning me.
John Alley and David Hood taught the sessions today, and the teaching was well received by the people. I had a great time talking to people in the breaks. Canadian people are very warm and friendly, so it was very easy to just talk about the different places we come from.
This evening a family from a community near Edmonton, about 4 hours drive north of here, took me out to a pasta restaurant. I ordered seafood linguini... yum!!!! They were telling me that winter temperatures of -50 are not unheard of in their home town and it's not unusual to have 15 feet of snow on the ground. I'm glad I live where I live!
Me too!
