Those are geat! I love to see them on the flowers like that, they make such a pretty picture. I can't catch them mid-air and as you said, not all of them cooperate.
There were at least three other species fluttering around yesterday, Lois. None of them seemed to settle. It was as if they were being drawn to our garden by a smell of flowers that were not there. I hope they found what they were looking for.
Some of them seem to settle more readiy than others. I was watching some at the manatee viewing center and they were just sitting on leaves. I was wondering what they were doing. I know males "puddle" to extract minerals from the soil, but these didn't seem to be consuming anything.
