Last week the Bureau of Meteorology and the CSIRO issued a report claiming that our climate was getting hotter and drier and that the trend was worse than previously thought- the usual climate propaganda. The report was backed up with some nice graphs and maps which seem to back up the claims.
But, scientist JoAnne Nova has looked at the data and come up with some different conclusions.
If you only go back to 1960 then the report is accurate. But our climate didn't start in 1960. Take the starting point back to 1900 and, using the BOM's own trend information, we find that our climate is now somewhat wetter and cooler than in 1900.
She also shows that the claims of "unprecednted warming" are equally suspect.
