Awesome God!

I have just had the most exciting Sunday I've experienced in many a month!

This morning we had several visitors in church. Firstly was Guy, Susannah's friend from Sydney who, apart from being a really nice man, runs a TV production company ad may be in a position to offer some work to Philip.

Another of our visitors was Mabel a resident at a Group Home and whom we were expecting as we had been asked earlier by the manager of the service if it would be OK. She evidently enjoyed the church service and fellowship afterwards and she will be coming back. But she was also a joy to have here.

A third visitor was a truck driver who called in because we are on the highway and have plenty of suitable parking in the immediate area around the church. This is two weeks in a row that we have had a truck driver come to church so we are feeling that there is a real ministry starting to emerge here. Long distance truck drivers spend long times away from home and face lots of stresses in their daily work. I'll be contacting a truckies' chaplain to find out ways of reaching out to truckies both christian and not-yet christian.

Several people expressed their sense of excitement about the church feeling like it was extraordinarily full- we did still only have 26 people but it felt like we were piling people in, and with several regulars away!

Also there was a feeling that the sermon today was particularly helpful. (Click here to listen)

Tonight's service was another small one but I felt it was fruitful in terms of sharing about where God is leading us as a church and in thinking about a Personal Mission Statement to describe our calling.

Let's remain faithful to God and w will see exciting things unfold.
