Today's Photos

It's been a typically long Sunday.

I got up early to pray, then we had church.

After lunch it was off to an ecumenical prayer meeting at the Baptist Church. For some reason I had this strange sensation of being sucked backwards through time to the 1980's. I was glad that 2007 was still there when we stepped outside.

After the prayer time I had a happy time planting out some corn and melon seedlings.

There is a bit of quiet time now until night church.

Like a lot of people I was feeling quite tired this morning. I think it's the humidity. It's nice to have daily rain showers, but I think the higher humidity makes it harder to sleep at night.

Here are some photos of my vege patch. Unfortunately the trees are shading the vege patch in the afternoon- makes a lousy photo but will help protect the plants from the heat of summer. At the moment I'm growing corn (seeds haven't germinated very well until the batch I just planted out, and even they only germinated about 50%), a white-skinned water melon, tomatoes, broccoli, cucumber (self-sown from last year) and what I thought was a zucchini plant, also self-sown, but it's looking more and more like the same variety of cucumber plant. The cucumber plant is about a metre across and has produced just the one fruit so far... but that should change as the weather warms up.
