Chaser APEC charges 'could be dropped'
A Sydney court has heard that prosecutors are considering a request to drop charges against members of ABC TV's The Chaser's War on Everything.
On September 6, the comedy team allegedly breached APEC security by driving a fake motorcade into a restricted zone.
Eleven people were arrested and were charged with entering a secure area without justification, including Chas Licciardello, who sat in the back of one of the cars dressed as Osama bin Laden.
Today a police prosecutor told the Downing Centre Local Court that lawyers for the comedy team have asked for the charges to be withdrawn.
The police prosecutor said a decision had not yet been made.
The matter has been adjourned until January.
The accused members of the comedy team were not required to be in court today.
