Today's Photos

On a rush trip to Newcastle, there doesn't seem to be time to stop and enjoy the scenery, or take photos of it. So, I took photos as we travelled- but only when Margaret was driving!

Here are some canola fields near Gunnedah and sunseet and rainbow near Murrurundi. The photo of the bee on a flower, was not taken at 100 km/h.

  1. Beautiful reflection on the water in the second one. And a double rainbow!! WOW!! Good catch on the bee on the flower!

  2. Thanks Lois. We've seen some spectacular rainbows both at home and along the highway from here to Newcastle. Often they have come when we have needed special encouragement. We have learned to see them as a reminder that God is in control and His purposes will come to pass.It took a few goes with the bee. There are lots around at the moment. I think they are storing up nectar prior to the soon-coming winter.I find that macros are quite tricky. I took about a dozen shots and got one decent one. I think the problem is the auto-focus always picks the wrong thing to focus on and with these shots the depth of field is pretty small so the background gets the focus and the subject is of the blurry. I need to take the time to train myself in manual focus, and wean myself off all the Auto settings :)
