Reflection on Revelation 5:11-14

Scripture
“Blessing and honour and glory and power
belong to the one sitting on the throne
and to the Lamb forever and ever.”

Observation
The dominant activity in Revelation is worship. Everyone on earth and in heaven worship Jesus, the Lamb.

It must be an awesome experience to hear the sound of “thousands and millions of angels” together with “every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea.”

The whole of creation will be united win worship of Jesus.

Application
When we decide that worship is boring or irrelevant, we are thinking as people of flesh and not as spiritual people.

When churches decide to water down the message or make worship “seeker-sensitive” they have lost the plot.

Worship is to Jesus, about Jesus, for Jesus. The Lamb who was slain is now alive and reigns on the throne.

There is no other person worthy of adoration.

Amazingly, not only will the angels and the visible creation worship Jesus, but even the demons, the creatures “under the earth” will join in the great song of praise.

To align ourselves with heaven, we must start with worshipping Jesus.

Prayer
Jesus, you are the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world- even my sin. Teach me how to worship you with all that I am, every waking hour. Amen.
