Mass Insanity on Australian Roads

Is there some kind of mass insanity breaking out amongst road users this Christmas?

From the ABC this morning:

Meanwhile, a p-plate motorcyclist has had his licence suspended after being caught riding at 220 kilometres an hour in an 80 zone at North Sydney this morning.

Police say they stopped the rider on the Warringah Freeway around 5:00am.

The 28-year-old has been charged and he has been ordered to appear in court next month.

Last night a learner driver was caught doing 203 kilometres an hour on the Hume Highway at Bowning in south western New South Wales.

Learner drivers are restricted to a top speed of 80.
