Lord, what am I that you should care about me?
I'm just a lump of dirt, on a big rock, circling a fiery sun.
The world tell me I am insignificant, a nobody...
But you say I am so precious that you sent your only son to redeem me.
A baby in a stable... what's that about?
Your hands flung stars into space
And here you are weak and helpless-
Unable to squeeze play dough,
much less mould a planet.
Herod hunts you
Pharisees fear you
Romans revile you
Nations ignore you
Peasants praise you
Children cheer you
Redeemed rejoice in you.
You came in weakness
And left the same way.
The people you came to love
Rejected you
Scourged you
Crucified you.
Yet that humiliation was your exaltation
The suffering your glory.
Now we will share eternity with you
Holy Saviour
In a manger
You came for me.
