Bellata is a little village 50 km north of Narrabri.
For the last 15 or so years, i have been going there each week to conduct Scripture lessons in the tiny two teacher school.
Part of our tradition is that at the end of each year we combine the classes for a Christmas service in the Anglican church across the road from the school.
So today was the big day, and Margaret Baxter and I travelled there, armed with guitar, OHP and Christmas Tree for our annual bash.
I entered the church to be confronted by the delightful sight and smell of an expired possum.
We relocated the church service back to the school classroom.
We had a great time. It actually felt even more festive than normal. The children and the teachers really enjoyed the singing and the message.
