Three states in eastern Australia which until the other day were enduring bushfires are now enjoying a white Christmas. Geographically challenged readers in the US should recall that it is summer in Australia and that we tend to experience heat rather than cold at this time of the year.
In Victoria, fires came within metres of destroying the Mount Buller resort which is today under snow.
In NSW good falls of snow have been recorded in the snow fields, while in Tasmania Hobart residents are flocking to nearby Mount Wellington to enjoy a white Christmas.
In Narrabri, we've enjoyed a nice, mild (low 20 degrees C), and rainy day.
No doubt global warming proponents will point to this as another example of the "extreme" weather caused by climate change.
