Reflection on Psalm 50

The Lord
The Lord of hosts
Comes in glory
His radiance is fire
fire that consumes
burns all before
all that is tainted

The Lord
He summons men
His call is global
and they gather
they bow and worship

Tremble sinners!
Judgement is here!
You mocked him
You ignored and rejected
His salvation
Now judgement comes.

Tremble hypocrites!
Judgement is here!
You worshipped
with lips but no heart
Self-righteousness and pride
were your great sin
Do I need your songs?
Do I need your offerings?

Rejoice you faithful!
Judgement is here!
You followed me
Dying to your desires
Letting me direct
All your paths through life
Rejoice and live!
