Reflection on Colossians 1:1-14

Scripture
He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of His dear Son who purchased our freedom and forgives our sins.

Observation
The Colossians are famous for their love of God and of each other, arising from their confident hope of salvation.

The Good News is changing lives everywhere, just as it has changed the people in Colossae.

In response to their faith, Paul constantly prays for then- praying that they will be strengthened, filled with joy and thanksgiving.

Application
God in his grace brought the Good News to us and when we believed, he brought us out of darkness and into the Kingdom of light.

It's staggering to think that this same Good News has been changing lives all over the world for the last 2000 years.

It's not a new thing.

It's not an Australian thing.

The same gospel brings people to salvation today as it did 2000 years ago, in India, China, Africa, Australia.

Glory to God!

Prayer
Father I praise you for your great love. Thank you for the good Bews bringing people to salvation today. Thank you for the heritage that I share with millions of other people who are in your kingdom. Amen.
