Today's Photos

I took a late walk this afternoon so the setting sun lit things up a little differently to normal.

I was taken by the colours in the trunk of this tree.

For some reason I can't get these photos to go the right way up! I've tried rotating them through the photo album. When that didn't work I rotated the original on my computer then deleted and re-uploaded the photos. Tip your screen over to see proper orientation. :)

The galahs in the big tree by the lake seemed to glow in the light.

  1. I had that problem too. I would upload photos that were fine in the photo program (I was using Picasa) on the computer, but would show sideways in Opera photo album. I would select the rotation from "Edit Images" and it would not rotate. I, in my infinate patience would make the selection 20 or so more times and would end up with it upside down or something. I think there is a delay on it. Select from the "rotate" menu then leave it. Go out of Opera and come back and check it then. I haven't had the problem in quite awhile, either the Sony camera or iPhoto on the MAC turns them and they load correctly in Opera without my having to do anything more.Great photos! Yes the tree trunk displays some interesting colors. Are the colors actually part of the tree or is it some kind of organic thing growing on the tree? Beautifl bird!

  2. Yes I can get them to be sideways in either direction- haven't managed upside down yet!The colours on the tree are actually the tree itself. I'm not a tree expert, but I think it's related to the gum in the tree coming to the surface. The bark on that particular tree is also very thin and tends to peel away in layers.

  3. Did you try completely refreshing the page in your browser? If my.opera doesn't give the picture a new number (and hence a new URL) your browser would figure "I've already got that one cached; just display it again."I see upright trees, with black bars on the side so the images still have the same dimensions.

  4. After that last post at 9:23 I in fact went back and rotated the images by 270 degrees and then reloaded the page but it was the same. Now it's looking fine, as you describe Greg. And it even looks right in the photo album.
