Reflection on Colossians 1:15-28

Scripture
But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firm in it. Don't drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News.

Observation
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He is above all of creation and worthy of our worship. He's the beginning and the end, and most importantly the one who brings us to god.

This includes those of us who were God's enemies.. God has reconciled us to Himself.

But we need to stand firmly in this, holding tightly to the Good news.

Application
Lots of people claim to believe in God. Many fewer actually believe in the Good News.

God is not a theory to be believed or a doctrine to be learned. He is a person to be loved and to be obeyed.

To stand firm means to remain faithful to the one who loves us, not being side tracked by the lures and temptations of the world and the flesh,

It's not easy, but as we keep our yes on Jesus, He enables us to walk with Him.

Prayer
Lord help me to continue to marvel at your great love for me and to stand firm in you. Amen.
