The Insanity Grows

The Minister for knowing nothing about the internet, not only wants to filter the web, putting arbitrary and secret restrictions on what we can view, he now thinks that it would be a good idea to mandate anti-virus software for everyone connected to the interwebs.


Good idea except there is only one operating system that is prone to viruses.


Those of us who use inherently secure operating systems such as Linux will be forced to install anti-virus software for no good reason, slowing down our computers for no good reason.


The internet providers would also have to have some magic software than connects to all devices which might connect to the internet, including phones, printers, fridges etc. and tell whether they have the appropriate software installed.


It is absolutely crazy!
