Today's Photo

I took Rex for a walk this afternoon. It was a warm afternoon and she was panting almost to choking point and so I stopped off to let her go into the water for a swim. She walked in very gingerly and just sat unmoving in the water. When she came out she was limping. She had trodden on some particularly nasty burrs, some of which had gone right into the gaps in her paws. They must have hurt to have in and hurt to have pulled out. They were so sharp that ten m minutes later my fingers were still sore from where I had pulled them out of Rex's paws and my shoes and socks- I think they were what people here call Bohena Beauties

  1. She's tough though! If I think it's too hot for her to walk I have to sneak away or she will follow me.By this evening she was happy. Last night's left over lasagne healed her hurts I'm sure :D

  2. She's a very cute dog. We have 'sand spurs' here and they have the same effect - they get in between the pads on their paws. Very difficult to remove and, as you say, they hurt going in and coming out. Lasagne always is a good healer!!
