Burry Update

I mentioned in a previous post about Rex's encounter with nasty burrs that I thought that they were Bohena Beauties. In fact they are. The plant's official name is Spiny Burrgrass also known as Bohena Beauty, Gentle Annie, Innocent Weed. I like the last two- there is nothing gentle or innocent about them.

The plant is a native of North America- thank you very much :)

Here are a couple of pictures of the burrs:

  1. Nice of them to share :PInteresting mode of transport for a seed. Hitch a ride. Hmm A thought i had while typing this out, if for some reason bee's just all died out, plants would be in for a rude shock, no more pollination...

  2. That's a random thought! More insects than just bees do the pollination, and there are many different species of bees so you can probably sleep tonight James.BTW I hope you're feeling better than you were this morning!
