Football Church Advances

Our attraction to Football Church took another step forward this morning.

To explain, for some time I have been thinking about what a missional church directed to Junior Soccer would look like. Our church has so many connections to soccer that it's not funny. But how to reach out to the Football Community in an intentional way?

This morning we excused Greg from church early to go and attend a coaching clinic... that's a workshop for parents who want to coach their children's teams.

So now we have a coach inside the football fraternity. A Soccer Pastor even.

As we develop contacts and friendships in this mission field we need to keep on seeking God's directions about how to move forward in establishing God's Kingdom on the football field.

As I walked across the football fields this afternoon on my almost-daily prayer walk, I claimed the place for Jesus and prayed for more opportunities to take the Good News there.

Mission church is so much more fun than the old attractional church model.
