Our trusty 1991 Mitsubishi van got a heart transplant this week! The old engine was taken out, rebored, reconditioned, fitted with new belts, chains, valves and other mechanical bits then re-installed. We had to have a new radiator too as the old one was rusting out.
The whole process took just 5 days, and our van is quite literally born again. It is much quieter when running, more powerful and (hopefully) won't use buckets of oil.
This is all like what happens when we come to Jesus. We get a new heart, a chance to start over.
Our old van is still the same car- the dents and crooked bullbar which give it so much "character" are still there, but underneath the exterior there is a new heart.
Noel Burke, our mechanic said "After all this, it shoud go for 100 years."
But when a person gets a heart transplant from Jesus, they go for eternity!
