Road Trip Blues

Tim and I returned home from our quick road trip yesterday afternoon. The trip home was hot and uncomfortable due to the heat and the non-functioning air conditioner in the van. It was about 33 C right through NSW yesterday, far too warm for spring.

Susannah came up to Grandma's on the train yesterday morning. She decided to prevent us leaving by lying down across the driveway in front of the car. She wasn't too committed to the project, and possibly the driveway was too hot to stay there for long.

On our journey we collected a lounge suite, a rug and some large pictures (all of which match the colour scheme in the church), a collection of kitchen cupboards (some of which are destined for our laundry) and of course the inevitable baby equipment. The lounge suite is still in Newcastle as it was all too much to bring home in one go.

Here are some miscellaneous photos of suburban Newcastle.

This morning Alex decided to join the worship team.

  2. Of all the cities on Australia's east coast, Newcastle is one of the prettiest. Wollongong, just south of Sydney is nice too. What I like about Newcastle is that there is still quite a lot of bushland. Unfortunately, like Sydney, Newcastle's suburban sprawl just keeps taking over more and more of the Hunter Valley, invading the farm lands.
