Monster Pig Holds Woman Hostage

There is no word about whether it is wearing lipstick.

From the ABC:

Monster pig holds woman hostage

A pig the size of a shetland pony is holding a woman hostage on a property in northern New South Wales.

Sixty-three-year old Caroline Hayes says she cannot go out of her Uki house to use the outdoor toilet because the pig is aggressive towards her.

Ms Hayes says even rangers from Murwillumbah Council have failed to capture the animal.

She says the pig has managed to get into her bedroom.

"It's a beautiful male pig but he's just so big and so pushy," she said.

"He's actually getting very cranky at the moment.

"He pushes my door and I push a little bit and he gets in and I've got to push him out of my room."

UPDATE: The pig must go:

'Monster' hog fated to piggery post-capture

A large pig that has been terrorising a woman on the New South Wales north coast will be sent to a piggery after it is captured tomorrow morning.

Sixty-three-year-old Caroline Hayes says she cannot get outside of her Uki house because of the large pig's aggressive attitude towards her.

Rangers from Murwillumbah Council tried to catch the large animal yesterday, but had taken a cage that was too small.

Pest Animal Ranger Len Hing from the Tweed Lismore Rural Lands Protection Board visited the animal today.

Mr Hing says while the pig is friendly, its large size makes it difficult to control it when it is hungry.

"He is a bald pig [weighing] about 80 kilos; I wouldn't like to see the pig go as a pet anywhere because he could become a potentially dangerous animal," he said.

The Rural Lands Protection Board says the pig will be removed tomorrow morning and relocated to a piggery.

  1. I'm not sure I want to know the answer to this, but what is a piggery?

  2. A piggery is a pig farm- usually intensive, indoors controlled environment.
