Christmas Photos

Hope everyone had a good Christmas, and that you were touched by the mystery of Emmanuel, God is with us!

We had a wonderful day. Church was just great in the morning- we had a lot of visitors mainly from the Baptist church who did not have their own service. That was nice and explained the very strange urge that I had to make our service more traditional in format than we might normally have.

What was really strange was that a few of them wanted to buy some products from our bookshop so we did a roaring trade after church- possibly one of the biggest single days. Not bad for Christmas Day!

Before Christmas I had bought a new PDA/mobile phone on EBay. It's a very nice unit. It's like a little computer, mobile phone and camera all in one, (I won't use the camera much, because I like my Fuji) together with a built-in GPS and navigation software. But as we started playing with it, it didn't seem to have all the features it should have. When we looked closely at the specs it was in fact an earlier model, and some of the accessories had been left out. The guy had made a mistake in selling two phones that he thought were identical. We've exchanged emails and it seems it was a sincere mistake. So now I have to make a decision about whether to keep this one and accept a discount or swap the units. The proverbial bird in the hand or two in the bush dilemma.

In all the busy-ness and excitement of the day, I mostly forgot to pick up my camera.

I did snap these two of James and Josh jamming in the church in the afternoon. We bought Josh an amp for his bass guitar for Christmas. James is learning to play electric violin.
