Thanks Lois! I think this one might be southern hemisphere only due to the fact that it was in the south western sky here, and you don't get the moon crescent oriented in that direction. Still I suppose there will be similar occurrences up your way.Apparently there was a sad face several years ago just before the economy took a downturn!I'm told we have to wait until 2036 for the next one!
I saw it last night, but the configuration was different, the planets looked to be in the same places, but the moon was quite a lot higher in the sky. Still, a nice show!Another 28 years....... we'll maybe by that time I'll be rich and can make a trip to Aurstralia to view it!! :lol:By the way, I met a very nice young lady at the sanctuary, she has come to volunteer for 2 weeks from the university in Melborne where she is studying to be a vet.
Aussies are everywhere Lois, but we'd love to host you for our next smiley face show!Tim told me that it was looking sad the next day, but it was upside down in the sky so it doesn't really count :P
That is so cool!!! I hope we can see something like it here! Great shots!!!

ReplyDeleteOh this was nearly completely upside down too. I didn't know it had to be right way up to count as a face. :P
ReplyDeleteOf course! Didn't they teach you any astrology at SCA? ;)
ReplyDeleteI think I missed that class. Must have been in the VET course. I probably had ethics or something instead... :P
