I haven't been blogging much of late, and most of what I've posted has been cut and paste of other people's work.
The reason is that I've been pretty busy and I haven't had a lot of time for thinking. We've had countless overnight visitors meaning regular bed-making, dish washing, vacuuming etc. These have been worth the effort just to fellowship with some wonderful people, but very hard work.
The HSC exams start on Thursday and that has also been absorbing a bit of my time. Normally everything goes smoothly- they send you reams of paper and you collect it, and arrange for it to be appropriately filled in by students and staff, then you send it all back. But this time we've had someone who has just moved here from another school necessitating hiring extra supervisors (or perhaps not, we still don't know), checking with the school and the Board of Studies, arranging for extra papers for the subjects he does and aren't normally offered at this school, and it just goes on and on. To top matters off, we've discovered that one subject where students can choose to do a project or do an exam, the Board of Studies has incorrectly determined that the entire class is not doing the exam.
Rats in the ceiling have chewed the cable that runs from the controller to the air-conditioner, and it looks like we have another leak in our water pipe, meaning that more spade-work will be required when I find the time.
The showers are nice, though even if it is very muggy.
And overall we really are blessed!
