New Life Birthday Celebrations

This weekend we've been celebrating our church's 10th Birthday.

We've had the most wonderful time. We invited Rod and Sharon West from Sydney to come and help us celebrate.

The festivities kicked off with a Creative Ministries workshop on Saturday. We spent time thinking about movement as a form of worship. We also looked at dramatic representations of Psalm 147.

We had a bush dance at Narrabri West Public School. We learned some line dances and circle dances. We also shared some stories and testimonies of what God has done in our lives. The evening ended with a rainbow parachute which we used as a covering over the children while we prayed a blessing over them.

Sunday morning was a great time of celebration in worship. We processed into the church with objects representing the love of Jesus.

During the service we made a blessing tree. We cut out leaves from green paper to represent things we can thank God for. Coloured paper blossoms represent our prayers for the future.

We also wrote onto blue paper shapes representing water drops our ordinary gifts that we want to offer to Jesus. We placed them in little paper wine glasses to show that Jesus takes the ordinary things and turns them into extraordinary things, just as he turned water into the best wine.
