Today is the day of Pentecost, the day when the church celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit (see Acts 2).
This is the day of equipping of the saints to become the people of God, the day of identity for the church, the day of receiving both the gifts (the power) of the holy Spirit and the fruit (the character) of the Holy Spirit.
So today we pray "Come Holy Spirit. Renew your people. Set us on fire for you and for your kingdom. Amen."
