I posted this today on the Open Heaven forum as a response to a post on the "30 Days of Glory" thread. I thought it was worth re-posting it here. Maybe it will speak to someone who is considering taking a step of faith.
"When it comes to great faith, one of the most difficult and often hidden issues of the heart has nothing to do with our belief in God's ability. His sufficiency is a given accepted without question. The real issue is often; "but can God do it through me?" Believing that God can use you, that is where real faith comes in. We are the people, the city and the house. In the New Testament there is no doubt concerning the true nature of the coming Temple. We are it. You are it!"

Aaahh the christian superstars. We love to hear the great prophets who might have a "word" for me. We flock to the healers and the evangelists.
Is it easier for a prophet to speak into my life than for me to listen to God for myself? Is it easier to wait for the Man of God to heal that lump than for me to rebuke it myself? I know it's easier to wait for the mega-evangelist to save my neighbour than for me to offer him a cup of water in Jesus' name.
The church is a body of spectators, getting fat watching the A-League performers, when our calling is to PLAY in Little League.
Life is not a spectator sport! The Kingdom of God is not the Superbowl!
Just take a step of faith today. Listen to that still, small voice urging you to offer to pray with your friend, urging you to speak out that "impression" in your head. Just a little step, a baby step.
One little step closer to beholding the Glory of God!
