Reflection on Galatians 1:11-24

Scripture
I received my message from no human source and no one taught me. Instead I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.

Observation
People accused Paul of making up his own version of the gospel. But, Paul says, his teaching came about from a direct encounter with Jesus, together with discussions- later- with other apostles, following a sustained period of learning and reflection over three years.

The result of this process was that people marvelled and glorified God because the persecutor had become the preacher of good news.

Application
everybody needs some form of direct revelation of the gospel from Jesus Christ. Without this, preaching becomes dry teaching of facts and the gospel is turned into legalism and dogma.

The gospel is about personal relationship with God. We need to hear from God to discern his plans for us and live in daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer
Father, thank you for the gospel for it really is Good News. Thank you also for the Holy Spirit. Please help em to live in that place of constant fellowship with you. Amen.
