Recent Photos

I haven't been inspired to take many photos lately :( ...

When we went to Rockhampton we were intrigued by this literal train wreck. About 20 empty coal wagons with varying extents of damage were lying beside the tracks.

I did manage this one last week, some lovely cockatoos caught in a tree near the lake just on sunset.

Saturday was quite rainy. I tried to take photos of flowers with raindrops on them- as Philip would say, Epic Fail!

This pretty blue flower turned out OK though.

This morning was bitterly cold (-1 deg C) and foggy. Fog is reasonably uncommon in Narrabri and normally I do get excited about the opportunity to get out and about, but this morning was just too cold. I did drag myself out just before the fog lifted. The good thing about fog is that it offers a different perspective on the landscape- everything is softened by the low light, bright colours are accentuated and the fog removes a lot of the background clutter allowing the eye to focus on the foreground objects.
